Austinites LOVE Austin. And, you can't really blame us. First of all, we are just darn grateful we don't live in Houston (sorry, Houstonians, deep down even you don't want to live there). Austin is incredibly eclectic- musicians, college students, tekkies, tree-huggers, sports nuts... you name it- we've got it. We may not have any NFL, NBA or MLB teams, but we do have our Round Rock Express baseball, the Texas Stars hockey team at the Cedar Park Event Center and, of course, our TEXAS LONGHORNS! There's always a festival to be found downtown or at Auditorium Shores. Whether it's the Pecan Street Festival, the Bat Fest, Reggae Fest, ACL Music Fest or South by Southwest, I think that Austinites just look for a reason to have live music playing in the street and turkey legs and frozen margaritas served by street vendors. There's a certain amount of pride that we have as Austinites. We're not pretentious like those folks from Dallas and, well, we're not Houston. Austin
